  • Description:

The Missner Group completed the design-build construction of a new, three-story 41,000 square foot medical office build-to-suit for Debb Kosich LLC, located at 2923 N. California Avenue in Chicago.

The project included the demolition of an existing industrial warehouse prior to construction of the new facility, which features a covered parking garage as well as visibility from I-90/94.

The Missner Group also utilized a premium architectural finish on the exterior of the property to provide the look of marbled stone while offering increased weather resistance and durability.

The Missner Group also completed a 20,000 square foot interior build-out which included the construction of private offices; meeting and conference rooms; medical exam rooms; MRI and X-ray suites; and medical storage space. The interior features various high-end finishes, custom metal-trimmed millwork throughout as well as a custom 100-gallon salt water fish tank and a dramatic wall panel for a recessed television in the waiting area.

The Missner Group coordinated the installation of a Toshiba Magnetic Resonation Imaging (MRI) at the facility and managed multiple parties involved in the project including the architect, Technology Consultants Group; the magnetic shielding specialist, ETS-Lindgren; the manufacturer and supplier of the MRI equipment, Toshiba America Medical Systems; as well as the radiological and technology specialists for IBJI.

The MRI equipment was installed on the first floor of the property where the coils and magnets were hoisted via a crane through a removed window. The space features concrete walls specified to medical imaging requirements, RF shielding throughout and specialty HVAC and electrical systems.
